On this excursion Lynette Knapp, a Merningar Barduk Noongar Elder and Adjunct Research Associate at UWA Albany will be touching on the seasonal changes that occur during Pourner/Djeran, as well as the significance of Warrumbup (Weedon Hill) as the birth place of rock formations in the local area. Ursula Rodrigues, a PhD student at University of Western Australia, will be discussing the outcomes for people and Country of contemporary Noongar fire stewardship and collaboration between land managers and Noongar peoples in fire management. Ursulas research focuses on cross-cultural connections focusing on the southwest of Australia.

Alternatively, parking is available at The Cove’s workshop for less mobile participants attending the event.
