It is not possible to explore the piano trios of the Romantic Era without looking at one of its most distinguished, Clara Schumann, a defining figure of Romantic era. Her 61 year career as a concert pianist lead her to being a household name alongside of which she explored the world of composition dispute the odds. Her Trio in G minor for piano, violin and cello, (1896) is often held as her shining masterpiece.
This June, Orenda (Michael Howel, Alix Hamilton, and Adam Pinto), is excited to explore and unpack this exquisite work as they arrange it for their unique instrumentation, flute, viola, and piano. They will pair this work alongside the colorful Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 15 by Louise Adolpha Le Beau, shining a new light on this often overshadowed composer.
