Get to know your local beach-nesting birds!

07/10/2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

BirdLife Australia are holding a workshop where you can learn more about your local beach-nesting birds- how to recognise them and what they need to be able to survive.

Learn how to interpret the quirky behaviours of the birds, why it is so important for the local community to get involved in their protection and what you can do to help out. We will spend the morning indoors, have lunch and then have a beach visit, where we’ll get to see some of the birds behaviours. All are welcome!

  • Learn why our very own Western Hooded Plover needs our help
  • Discover the very particular habits of Sooty and Pied Oystercatchers, and how they have quite different preferences
  • Enjoy the antics of our smallest beach-nester the Red-capper Plover

Come along to our Beach-nesting Birds Community Workshop.

Morning tea and lunch provided (RSVP dietary preferences)

For more information and to RSVP (5/10/23) contact Lisa.nicholson@birdlife.org.au

Please come dressed for the weather for the beach field trip.
