Balance is a handy body barometer, as it can be a measure of our current physical and mental state. Our ability to balance is essential for our everyday living, yet it is often taken for granted, until we feel challenged. Balance is not static, nor is it only based in our feet.
When we are well balanced, we have less fatigue and more energy, our movements are easier and more comfortable, and we are more confident and competent in all activities.
Balance is a dynamic and fluid state of our whole body, coordinated from one moment to the next by our nervous system.
In this workshop, presented by Movement Integration (Annemarie) & Shelley Kiiveri, you will experience some fundamental elements of balance that can give you;
A set of effective self-care tools to be able to continue improving your balance
Enhanced Body awareness to be able to make important sensory distinctions
Ability to improve your proprioception, coordination and ease when shifting your body weight.
Using Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons enables you to explore relevant details of your balance, in a way that gives you skills to further improve ease of movement and dynamic balance.
Our physical balance, and mental and emotional state, are all intimately connected and when we have an understanding of this we can use it to gain the best possible outcome of our actions and interactions.
