Make, Do, and Mend with Plastic Reduction Denmark

March 12 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

In 2nd World War Britian buying clothes was rationed and a campaign to “Make do and mend” urged people to repair, reuse & reimagine their existing clothes. Today we have a War on Waste with the fast fashion industry being one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions, pollution & waste. Not to mention 70% of our clothes being made from plastic.

Taking care of clothes is a great way to participate in addressing this challenge, as well as being fun, creative & saving you money. You’re also joining the trendy Slow Fashion Movement!

So come learn some simple mending skills with the volunteers of Plastic Reduction Denmark, or learn to sew shopping and fruit/veg bags, bunting or cloth nappies.

Come for an hour or come for the day!

Yummy morning tea and lunch provided.

Bring sewing machine, cotton & scissors if you can.

For catering purposes or for further information phone Karen on 0476 205 155.
